In business for 43 years

Item, Inc. was founded in February of 1979 by Tim Rizer, a former sales executive with Xerox. We were one of the first companies to buy and sell used and refurbished copier equipment.

A Brief History

1980s
Item, Inc. becomes a major player among the 47 different word processor manufacturers, including IBM, Wang, and Xerox.
1990s
Item, Inc. formed sister companies Consolidated Computer Services and Copy Fix, Inc. and hires the best technicians for printers, copiers, and other imaging systems. Our technicians take all available authorized training classes, helping Item, Inc. to develop top-of-class support across most brands.
2000s
Item, Inc. widens its offerings and becomes a source for service parts, technical support, and customer service across a broad range of manufacturers including Xerox, Dell, Lexmark, Samsung, Canon, Konica-Minolta, OKI, Ricoh, and more. We begin working closely with third-party service providers and Authorized Service entities that need additional, specialized help. With a growing reputation as a knowledgeable vendor for parts, products, and service support offerings, Item, Inc. sells off its service companies and focuses exclusively on helping others grow their service business.
Current
Recently Item, Inc. purchased a 4 acre, 70,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office building in Woodbridge, Virginia to allow us to grow well into the future. In 2021, we became the official parts vendor for Oki, as well as an authorized supplies distributor.
